THE MISTER LAURENCE KIDDIE ROCK RADIO SHOW

2001 thru 2005, Mister Laurence hosted a kids radio show called THE MISTER LAURENCE KIDDIE ROCK RADIO SHOW, along with good friend Saun Westergaard on WCBN 88.3 FM.  Mister Laurence later hooked up with the station's official kid's show KIDS ON STRIKE! broadcasting 9:00 am to 10:00am, every Saturday morning.  As DJ, Mister Laurence would focus on vintage 78 rpm kiddie records, picture discs, cardboard cut-outs, multi-colored vinyl 45 rpms and other such audio antiquities. Yes, Mister Laurence took you down memory lane with records dating as far back as the 1940s!

In addition to vintage vinyl, he also showcased wild modern kiddie performers, as well. Great fun!
 (He even played Mister Laurence CD's on the radio, though technically we wasn't supposed to...)

It was said there's nothing more entertaining than to hear Mister Laurence try to form rational sentences that early in the morning (invariably spouting off in pure Gibberish), as he tried to explain the meaning behind each and every record played, cueing up the tracks like a pro, skimming through the rough pitted popcorn terrain of ancient colored vinyl. On occasion he would air two recorded versions of the same song at once! Madness!

Here were a few of his favorite records: Said the Harpsichord to the Piano, The Tune That Ran Away, Bozo Under the Sea, Peter and the Wolf, Woodie Wood Pecker and His Talent Show, Carbon the Copy Cat, Alice in Wonderland's Mad Tea Party, Nellie the Elephant, A Child's Introduction to Jazz, The Milk's Journey, Paper Family, and The Lonesome House — to name but a few!

Seen here, dejay Sean Westergaard and Mister Laurence,
cracking themselves up between songs.
"How's it going Saun?"   Very well thank you, and yourself?"
(Dig dat-dem-dare picture discs laying about on the turn table counter!
)

Mister Laurence broadcasting during MISTER LAURENCE'S KIDDIE ROCK RADIO SHOW, aired the last Friday morning of each month. KIDDIE ROCK RADIO ran from 2000 - 2007. Recordings from those over-the-air "live" performances are still available!
